We will be most pleased to answer any questions you may have.

The police department strives to make Madera a safer community through a collection of diverse and specialized programs. The department supports School Resource Officers at the Martin Luther King and Thomas Jefferson schools as well as the Madera High School. There is a Crime Prevention Officer, located at the Northwest Police Annex, who conducts crime prevention, neighborhood watch and property victimization programs. A Gang Task Force Officer responds to gang related offenses and collects information relevant to general law enforcement concerns. And, a Housing Authority Officer addresses law enforcement concerns throughout the city's housing programs and projects.  Animal Control Officers respond to various situations involving pets and other animal concerns throughout the city. The department also has two motorcycle traffic officers which address traffic issues, violations and accidents. Information about these programs are available throughout this web site.

The police department now maintains the most commonly used forms on this web site. You are encouraged to review these forms to expedite handling of information or other requests.

You may also wish to visit the Madera City website for additional useful information.

PLEASE NOTE:  If you are arriving from out-of-state, and you have brought handguns into California, it is imperative that you register with these firearms with the California Department of Justice with a Report of Handgun Ownership. Failure to do so may expose you to criminal sanctions.
