MADERA CITY COUNCIL The City of Madera, incorporated in 1907, is a general law city which operates under the Council/Manager form of government. Members of the City Council are elected at-large and serve four year terms with the Mayor selected by the City Council. Regular meetings of the Madera City Council are held the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. The City of Madera operates on an annual budget of $58 million and a work force of 275 full time employees. Administration of city operations and services to the community are provided through the efforts of various departments: Administration, Airport, City Attorney, City Clerk, Code Enforcement, Community Development (Building, Engineering, and Planning), Finance, Fire, Grants, Human Resources, Information Systems, Municipal Golf Course, Parks and Community Services, Police, Public Works, Purchasing, Solid Waste, and the Wastewater Treatment Plant. City Hall, the City’s main facility is located at 205 West Fourth Street; the Police facility is located at 330 South C Street; and the Public Works and Parks and Community Services facility is located at 1030 South Gateway Drive.
