Civil Service Commission
Meets as required, generally on the second Tuesday of each month, Conference Room, 5:30 p.m.
Committee members serve a four-year term. The Commission is composed of five members. Appointees shall be residents of the City of Madera. Commissioners shall not be employed with the City nor shall they be under the direct supervision of any existing Council Member.
Responsibilities: Certification of eligibility lists for hiring employees in the classified service, conducting appeal hearings regarding disciplinary action or alleged violation of Civil Service rules and at the request of the City Council or Administrator, conduct hearings and makes recommendations on other matters of human resources administration.
