Community Outreach Program Community Outreach Program
English (United States)

In 2002, the Madera Police Department initiated the Community Outreach Program for the betterment of families and children within the city of Madera. Police Officers within the Department observed the need of basic necessities, such as food and clothing within our low income community and have provided for many of those needs through the Community Outreach Program. Police Officers saw an opportunity to connect directly with residents of the community by showing they care through involvement.   In December of 2002 the Madera Police Department Community Outreach Program provided 35 low income families (180 people) with bags of food, clothing and toys for their children who otherwise would have gone without over the holidays.

In December of 2003, the Madera Police Department Community Outreach Program moved from the Pan-American center to Hatfield Hall (Madera Fairgrounds) for our Christmas Eve event. The Madera Police Department Community Outreach Program provided dinner, toys, bicycles and bags of food to over 1500 local residents.
