Successor Agency Successor Agency

SUCCESSOR AGENCY
The Successor Agency was created as the result of the California Supreme Court decision on December 29, 2011 upholding ABx1 26, which eliminated all redevelopment agencies in California and established a process for winding down their operations. The City of Madera has taken the following actions related to the wind down of the former Madera Redevelopment Agency.

On January 11, 2012, the City Council of the City of Madera elected to be the Successor Agency to the former Madera Redevelopment Agency by resolutions MRA-1497 and CC 12-08. The Successor Agency will have the authority to pay enforceable obligations and administer the dissolution and wind down of the former Madera Redevelopment Agency. The Successor Agency became operative on February 1, 2012 and all assets, properties, contracts and records of the former Redevelopment Agency have been transferred to the Successor Agency for administration. The City Council approved the appointment of former Madera Redevelopment Agency staff to the Successor Agency by resolution CC 12-28.
